The mission of the American Academy of Pediatrics is to champion optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults and to advocate for and support its members in these endeavors. The American Academy of Pediatrics’ vision exists to prepare its members with the tools, skills, and knowledge to be the best qualified health professionals to: Provide care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults Collaborate with others to assure child health Advocate for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults and such that decisions affecting their health are medically based, soundly intended and address their needs Derive professional satisfaction and growth from the care of children and their families
