MAKE WAY FOR BOOKS
MAKE WAY FOR BOOKS promotes early literacy in Southern Arizona by providing young children with the opportunity to fall in love with books and reading. Our mission is to give every child the chance to read and succeed. We serve children, families, and educators all throughout Arizona. linktr.ee/makewayforbooks Make Way for Books' mission is to give all children the chance to read and succeed. Established in 1998, we provide proven early literacy programs, services, and resources to 30,000 children, parents, and educators throughout Arizona annually. Make Way for Books builds on the latest research to provide innovative and bilingual programs that ensure underserved and economically disadvantaged young children (ages birth to 5) develop emergent literacy and language skills, social-emotional skills, and positive approaches to learning that are central to school readiness and academic success. Through a two-generation approach, we ensure caregivers have the skills and resources to support their children’s development.

Congrats to these Ocotillo Learning Center educators for completing their third year of coaching and professional development through The Story Project with literacy specialist Maria. While we’ll miss this incredible group, we’re confident in their impact. With dozens of new books and hours of coaching, their classrooms are now beacons of early literacy.

At the end of Story School, we recognize families with a graduation-inspired celebration. For us, it also serves as a reminder of the link between early childhood and long-term academic success. Help us set Arizona’s children on the path to success by making a donation at the link below.
