April is #VolunteerAppreciationMonth, and we’re excited to spotlight the Sai Center of Fairfax — a new volunteer group already making a big impact. This month, they brought the fun to Harvey Hall in Arlington with a family game night filled with laughter, connection, and community-building. Earlier this year, they assembled 100 welcome baskets for new residents at Allium Place, our new community in Silver Spring in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland.

Last week, AHC volunteer Aliyah was featured on TODAY with Jenna & Friends for her One Word Reading Initiative, which has helped hundreds of children in AHC communities build their own at-home libraries. After the segment aired, students at Gates of Ballston – where the feature was filmed – gathered for a special watch party, complete with ice cream. Their excitement at seeing themselves on screen was priceless.
