Because these practical items were created to be used their tactile qualities are often overpowering creating a tantalizing urge to sit to write to hold to touch. Our hypertechnological age seems like the right time for a renewed appreciation of Wharton Eshericks idiosyncratic highly crafted sculptural furniture. Visiting the museum is like entering another world where every nook and cranny from the buildings themselves to the items they contain is an artistic journey.

Absolutely loved my visit to the Wharton Esherick Museum! Each piece tells a story, and the intricate designs make it truly impossible to tell where art ends and function begins. Can’t wait to join the book club event for a deeper dive into creativity! 🌟🖼️

Do you want a close up look at rarely seen objects from the Wharton Esherick Museum collections. Every month we host a Members-Exclusive Sunday in the Studio during which we pull out objects from our archives to share with visitors. Most of these objects have never been on display to the public and give a deeper look into Esherick's life, work, family, and travels.
