In a study of all child sex trafficking cases in Las Vegas over eight years, it was found that only 40% of the rescued child victims had been reported as missing. We believe that awareness and community building is so crucial in the prevention of human trafficking. When our mobile units do outreaches in local communities, their goal is to support communities at risk and raise awareness. Those considered runaways are at a high risk of being trafficked. The Illinois Gaming Board now requires casinos to conduct human trafficking recognition training. Their training will include documenting and reporting procedures. We believe it takes a coalition of workers and approaching the issue from all different perspectives to move the needle on human trafficking.
