At Art Encounter, we believe that art should be accessible for everyone. Our broad menu of programs Art Encounter is a non-profit visual arts education organization founded in 1978 by three artists. Our mission is to educate, empower, and connect people of all ages and backgrounds thought interactive encounters with art. We use art as a tool to develop communication skills, foster intellectual growth, stimulate creativity and celebrate diversity. We serve a variety of audiences including at-risk youth, the elderly, special needs groups such as immigrants, incarcerated youth and the blind and visually impaired as well as the general public.
