Overview

National Church Residences is a mission-driven, not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors through quality housing, care, and services. Founded in 1961 by Reverend John R. Glenn, it began as Ohio Church Residences, supported by four Presbyterian churches. Over time, the organization has evolved to become the nation's largest nonprofit provider of affordable senior housing, operating over 360 communities across 25 states.

History and Evolution

Initially, Reverend Glenn mortgaged his own home to purchase 323 houses from the FHA, marking the beginning of this grassroots effort. The first senior living community, Bristol Village in Waverly, Ohio, was the foundation upon which National Church Residences expanded its mission and services. Today, the organization supports over 65,000 seniors annually through its communities, outreach programs, and home and community-based services.
