We take pride in the strength of our partnerships with the Medical Legal Partnership (MLP) and the Eviction Defense Project (EDP), which assisted Bet Tzedek in preventing the eviction of a highly vulnerable 78-year-old man facing serious health challenges. Recently bereaved and without family or support in Los Angeles, his only companion was his dog. After carefully assessing the situation, the MLP team discovered that his deceased partner's hoarding disorder had contributed to the eviction. Despite taking the right steps, his case manager failed to act, leading to an unjust eviction judgment. Thanks to the swift coordination between MLP and EDP, Bet Tzedek secured a temporary stay and successfully overturned the judgment, allowing him and his dog to remain in their home. Facing eviction?
