Since 1937, Jacksonville Area Legal Aid has been dedicated to providing high-quality legal assistance to low-income and other special-needs groups. JALA provides civil legal services to low-income persons primarily in Duval, Clay, Nassau and St. Johns, Florida. JALA also serves Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Madison, Suwannee, Taylor and Union. ORGANIZED TO OPERATE EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE BENEFIT OF JACKSONVILLE AREA LEGAL AID, INC., A 501(C)(3) TAX EXEMPT ORGANIZATION. MISSION IS TO ASSIST LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS IN JACKSONVILLE, FL AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS WITH CIVIL LEGAL PROBLEMS.

Depending on the legal problem JALA offers different kinds of help.
