The organization's primary purpose is to work toward reauthorization of the New York state law granting the mayor control over New York City public schools. This legislation, which sunsets in June 2009, must be renewed to ensure continued progress in our schools. The organization's purpose may further include any other charitable purpose in compliance with applicable law.
