In January, Assistant Professor Lamiya Mowla ’13 organized an astronomy workshop at the Asian University for Women that brought together 20 AUW students and 18 students from across Bangladesh. They had participants from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Myanmar! The program included morning classes, afternoon labs, and nighttime telescope observations, and the goal is to make this an annual program, with even more Wellesley involvement in the future.
