WheatonArts is home to the Museum of American Glass, Artist Studios, Folklife Center, & more! WheatonArts engages artists and audiences in an evolving exploration of creativity, through the Museum of American Glass, Down Jersey Folklife Center, and dynamic Artist Studios. As home to the Museum of American Glass, Down Jersey Folklife Center, Creative Glass Center of America and a complex of dynamic public-access Artist Studios, Wheaton Arts advances its mission to "engage artists and audiences in an evolving exploration of creativity" by: 1) Serving as a center for life-long learning for audiences of all ages and backgrounds, with programs featuring culturally diverse traditional and contemporary arts, and direct interaction with practicing artists; 2) Housing the nations largest collection of American glass; as a cornerstone of NJ's history, the foundation of our organizational history, and as a vital artistic medium; 3) Providing a supportive environment for artists to work, while delivering a professional, honest, and articulate interpretation of their work to visitors. The core of our work includes 1) excellent exhibits in traditional and contemporary arts; 2) the care and preservation of the nation?s largest collection of American glass, housed in the Museum of American Glass, one of nine AAM Accredited museums in the State of NJ; 3) Multi-cultural programs presented by the Down Jersey Folklife Center, the largest folklife center in NJ, featuring the diverse and culturally rich traditions in the southern eight counties. 4) Educational programs benefiting up to 12,000 students per year, many of whom are at-risk; 5) Valuable opportunities for artists, as highlighted by our Creative Glass Center's Fellowship Program, serving over 250 artists from 18 countries and 25 states, since 1983.
