Pilot Club of Canyon Lake
As an integral part of the Canyon Lake community, our signature project is education about and service to survivors of traumatic brain injury. The Pilot Club's mission is "Protect Your Brain for Life." This is done by educating the community about brain injury prevention and rehabilitation programs, as well as coping and care-giving programs. The group's signature project is supporting traumatic brain injury (TBI) camps. Texas Pilots have established and supported three camps for adult TBI survivors in Texas and New Mexico. At TBI camps, families and caregivers enjoy a week of normalcy. No stares, no explaining, just fun playing baseball, riding horses, swimming, dancing or even riding a zip line. Pilot volunteers contribute their time as counselors at the camps and help at events. Pilots also provide scholarships for campers and caregivers, as TBI Camp can cost up to $1,100 per person per week.
