Cornelius Youth Orchestras
The Youth Orchestra of North Carolina The Cornelius Youth Orchestras (CYO) is a non-profit community youth organization that is open for late elementary to high school aged musicians in the Lake Norman area and is currently comprised of seven programs: the Orchestra, Prelude Strings, Brass Ensemble, Junior Brass Ensemble, Brass Challenge, Woodwind Ensemble, and Woodwind Challenge. Our goal is to elevate and educate the entire local youth music community by bringing youth musicians of all backgrounds together and connecting them with some of the area’s best music educators. Students in our programs will be placed in the ensemble in which they will receive instruction at the level they need to grow further. We welcome all local youth musicians to join us!

The NCYO seeks to elevate and educate student musicians by fulfilling its dual mission of providing music education and orchestral performing opportunities for youth while simultaneously serving the community at large as a performing arts organization hosting concerts live music and other events. We aim to provide each and every student that comes to us with an open door to begin receiving an excellent education a clear path forward to progress on their instruments and a variety of performing opportunities to showcase and further develop their skillsets.
