The Wyss Foundation is proud to support Fundación Tierra Austral, a nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving Chile’s most ecologically valuable private lands—forever. 🌎🌿 Since 2012, Tierra Austral has partnered with landowners to establish private protected areas using robust legal tools, such as the Derecho Real de Conservación. The Derecho Real de Conservación is a legal instrument similar to conservation easements. These efforts protect biodiversity, maintain healthy ecosystems, and create vital wildlife corridors to help mitigate and adapt to climate change. Were dedicated to philanthropy that conserves land and wildlife expands economic opportunity and spurs discovery. We support the Wyss Institute at Harvards use of biotechnology to solve some of the most challenging medical problems.
