Loveland Opera Theatre is proud of its alumni!! Our alumni have been up to so many things, it’s nearly impossible to keep up! Bass-Baritone Eric McConnell, last seen as a soloist in We Wish You a Merry Christmas, is currently playing Valmont in Vegas City Opera’s production of Conrad Susa’s The Dangerous Liaisons. Tenor Nathan Snyder, who was last seen as a soloist in We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and mezzo-soprano Emily Anderson, last seen as The Fairy Queen in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Iolanthe, are currently in Opera Kansas’s production of Lisa DeSpain and Rachel Peters’ Staggerwing. Nathan is playing Dewey Noyes and Emily is covering Louise Thaden. Bass Andrew Potter and soprano Teresa Castillo, both last seen in our virtual recital series, have both made their cover debuts at the Metropolitan Opera! Andrew was covering Timur in Giacomo Puccini’s Turandot and Teresa was covering Frasquita in Georges Bizet’s Carmen. Soprano Tessa McQueen, last seen in our virtual COVID recital series, made another role debut at the Metropolitan Opera as the Priestess in Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida and is covering Chloë in Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades. Mezzo-soprano Kayla Nanto, last seen as Edith in Pirates of Penzance, will make her Santa Fe Opera role debut as Countess Ceprano in Verdi’s Rigoletto. Dearest musical readers, An incredible musical event graced our ears last evening! Mdms. Furst, Cerovich-Waldorff, and Carlson were absolutely enchanting during our festivities! Our hosts were quite delightful and the guests seemed fantastically amused with the entire event.
