The third annual Edina AAPI Month Festival brought our community together in a celebration of culture, heritage, and connection! 💚 Hosted by the Edina Asian American Alliance, this year’s event featured a variety of performances — from Taiko drumming and Bharatanatyam dance to music, theater, and martial arts — honoring the cultural traditions across our Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. Student groups, including the EHS Chinese Club, AAPI Student Union, South Asian Society, and Mosaic, shared their perspectives and leadership, amplifying student voices and building bridges of belonging throughout our community. A highlight of the festival was the recognition of Concord Elementary’s Ms. Nguyen Dang as the EAAA Educator of the Year — an honor made even more meaningful by the many heartfelt nominations from families across the district. Congratulations, Ms. Dang! As part of the celebration, attendees were invited to reflect on what AAPI Month means to them. Their responses included love, connection, appreciation for the past, good food, acceptance, joy, recognition, and support, capturing the spirit of the evening. Our Countryside kindergartners have officially earned their titles as Ocean Experts! 🐠💚 From sea lions to sea dragons, these students dove deep into ocean research, each choosing a specific sea creature to study and showcase. They created colorful, fact-filled poster boards to share their knowledge at the Countryside Kindergarten Ocean Museum, where families, staff, and students came together to celebrate learning.
