The mission of Gotham Early Music Scene is to increase public understanding and appreciation of early music (the music of the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and early Classical periods), enrich our communities with greater access to early music for all, and enhance the diversity, quality, and stability of participating artists and organizations in New York by: ♦ CREATING MORE OPPORTUNITIES for professional early music artists to perform; ♦ EXPANDING AND DIVERSIFYING audiences; ♦ STRENGTHENING ensembles, individual artists, and organizations devoted to the genre; ♦ EDUCATING musicians, the general public, and the media; and ♦ PRESENTING concerts, seminars, lectures, master classes, exhibitions, and scholarly forums.
