Mother & Child works with anyone who is pregnant, or parenting a child 0-5 years, offering connection Mother & Child Education Center offers hope, support, education and guidance to women who are pregnant and parenting to help build a community of competent, confident mothers. Fathers and other caregivers can also receive services. We educate clients about maintaining a healthy pregnancy, and parenting from infancy through five years. Mother & Child has been serving families from the Greater Portland community since 1971. Clients are diverse, including immigrants, citizens and families experiencing trauma such as domestic violence, or addiction. Our center is open five days per week and we offer our services at no charge. Classes include prenatal health, labor & delivery, newborn care, and parenting. We provide emergency clothing, diapers, food/formula, and other supplies.
