The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has announced changes that will make it easier for VA-enrolled veterans to access health care from non-VA providers at the department’s expense. National Commander James LaCoursiere Jr. applauded VA's move, noting it was among the top legislative priorities for this session of Congress. "Ensuring every veteran has access to timely, effective health care is a top priority for The American Legion," he said. "This significant improvement from VA eliminates an administrative hurdle that delays necessary treatment for our nations’ veterans. We will work with VA to educate veterans about their health-care options and continue to offer the administration grassroots feedback to foster further improvements for veteran health care."
