News
Day 4 of the Newport Summer School found the group exploring more of the Gilded Age "cottages," from the grandiose Ochre Court and Breakers (both by architect R. M. Hunt, and in sequence from 1888-1895). Then they were off to the privately owned French-Gothic Seaview, built 1923-25 by Howard Greeley. The day finished with the whimsically named Vinland, inspired by local Viking legends and Longfellow's poem "The Skeleton in Armor." #VSANewport #VSASummerSchool #VicSocAmerica (fb)
