The origins of Vox Veniae began with the Austin Chinese Church's desire to create a community for artists and creatives in Austin. Initially, the group mostly consisted of Asian college students. Over time, the organization expanded from its early campus-based gatherings to establishing itself in different parts of Austin, including Hyde Park and East Austin[1].

One of its significant achievements was the transformation of a former nightclub into Space12, a shared community space in 2008. Space12 allowed various groups to collaborate, including those involved in education, counseling, and arts projects for youth[1].

In more recent years, Vox Veniae has continued to evolve, including a journey of discernment regarding gender and sexual diversity. The organization actively welcomes and supports LGBTQ+ individuals and families, advocating for inclusivity and the marginalized within their community[1].
