Support our Scholars
Support Our Scholars (SOS) objective is to increase the likelihood that low-income students will complete college and improve the odds for financial security. Founded by women to empower women, SOS Support Our Scholars, Inc., is a not for profit organization providing financial aid and mentoring to young women from low income backgrounds to attend college, earn a degree and find employment or proceed to graduate studies. Selected for their academic excellence in high school (GPA of 3.5 or higher,) these scholars are supported with a $10,000 stipend over four years (maintaining minimum GPA of 3.0,) outfitted for campus living, and provided with both practical and emotional mentoring to ensure their confidence and success while offering a safety net when college life proves challenging.
