Programs for children and families in Gates County, North Carolina The mission of the Damascus Outreach Association (DOA) STEM Initiative is to provide at-risk elementary and middle school aged students in Northeastern North Carolina, with high quality free out-of-school time programming that supports school day learning and enable them to meet and exceed state and local achievement standards as well as meet and exceed State Priority Performance Goals in Math and Reading through the study and exploration of STEM ingenuity, and discreet instruction and support in Math and Reading skills. Additionally, Damascus Outreach Association, Inc. seek donations and grants to continue to be able to provide outreach services to low and very low income families in the areas of : food pantry, affordable housing & counseling for very low income, low income & seniors.
