"Granddaddy of First Aid" - Founded in 1927 "Grandaddy of First Aid" Organized in 1927 Served 1927 - 2021 Belmar First Aid Squad is the oldest dedicated first aid (EMS) service in the US. Formed in 1927, The Squad serves the residents and visitors to our community 24/7 with a dedicated group of volunteers. All our members are either Certified Emergency Medical Technicians or Certified Medical Responders/First Responders. We provide first aid/EMS and extrication services within the confines of our municipality and cooperate with assisting surrounding communities and Monmouth County when necessary. Belmar First Aid Squad is a founding member of the New Jersey State First Aid Council. Our original mission has expanded with the addition of the Belmar Water Rescue Team expanding our service area to include water rescue capabilities for the beach, inlet, marina and lakes surrounding our community.
