We had spent the past 3 weeks on God giving Moses the Law and the final week was going to be the the types of laws and which ones we should follow today. But when 4 new Deaf showed up for church for the very first time we decided we needed to pivot since they had very little background knowledge of the Bible (Figured explaining why they could now eat shrimp and wear cloths of 2 types of cloth wasn't a great "welcome to church for the first time" sermon. 😂) Instead 2 of the Deaf that had been present all 3 weeks collaborated on the spot to retell the story of Moses. One of the new women was brought to tears participating in Deaf worship for the first time and another shared how she had attended a church with an interpreter with her family for many years but struggled to really understand anything about the Bible until it was presented by other deaf and in a visual way!
