Changing Lives. WRA's mission is to restore women of all ages and circumstances to lives of dignity and respect, free from the effects of substance abuse. WRA is a network of people committed to enriching the community by providing timely and caring chemical dependency treatment programs for women and their families. With the Counseling Center and administrative office located in the heart of Burlingame, California, and four residential homes throughout the city of San Mateo, WRA is one of the few community-based, gender specific substance abuse treatment programs for women and children in San Mateo County.

Restoring livesone woman at a time. WRA began in 1964 as a support group for alcoholic women started by Sister Anna Marie Towers. The organization was incorporated in 1970 and opened its first residential treatment program in 1973 in San Mateo.
