Tropicaleiza Dance + Drum Co., founded in 2006 and directed by Julie Simon, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women through movement, music, and compelling storytelling. We exist to impart strength, vigor, and joy, empowering our audience to find their truest voice. We incite unique energetic expression and fullness of self. We do this through the utilization of stage performances, site-specific performances, immersive workshops, intensives, company and community classes, and lectures. We dance. We drum. We empower.
