CLEAN AIR COUNCIL
In early April, the Pennsylvania House Environmental and Natural Resources Committee voted to pass House Bill 109 out of committee, which would establish a permit review program within the DEP to consider cumulative impacts of pollutants on environmental justice communities. Cumulative impacts describe the combined effects people experience from multiple sources of pollution and stressors throughout life. The bill has currently been tabled, but is critical for protecting overburdened communities in Pennsylvania from the harmful, compounding health impacts of environmental pollution from multiple sources.
