Yesterday North Branch crews handled 2 fires in Branchburg. Around 5pm, NBVFC and mutual aid companies were dispatched for a reported house fire. Engine 49-3 arrived to find smoke coming from the house and quickly deployed a hoseline to extinguish a fire involving the porch and garage. Crews remained on scene for approximately 1 hour before clearing the scene. After returning to the firehouse, members went out to Hunterdon County Fire Academy for live burn training. Joined by Bradley Gardens Fire, both companies completed 3 evolutions focusing on fire attack and searches. Late last night around midnight, both Chiefs, Engines 8 & 3 responded to a fire involving a large mulch pile at a construction site. Both engines utilized their deck guns to extinguish the fire.
