For nearly 40 years, the leaders and supporters of the Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Fund (SPCAEF) have united around a shared belief – that education is the key to unlocking opportunity for the future of the Southern Perry County community and its future community leaders. Today, SPCAEF is composed of more than 25 funds that provide resources for young people to pursue their educational dreams and for local teachers and nonprofits to advance educational projects benefiting the community. Dawson-Bryant Elementary School students wrapped up the school year with new STEM equipment that allows them to build, explore and test circuits – thanks to the first grant awarded from the Janice Large Wheeler and Richard Wheeler Foundation for Science and Technology Education Fund. Created by their children, the fund honors the couple’s shared passion for helping young minds grow.
