Woodland Park American Legion Featuring The Legion Room The West Paterson American Legion Post Passaic County New Jersey The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is a veterans service organization committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of programs in our communities advocating patriotism and honor promoting national security and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans. This post revitalized in recent years in an outpouring of hard work and support from millennial veterans led by veterans and for veterans. We at American Legion Post 238 are doing things differently.
