We’re a little over a week away from historic school board elections in Newark that will – for the first time ever in New Jersey – see 16- and 17-year-olds cast their votes at the ballot box. This is a huge moment for democracy and a great reason to celebrate! Come kick it with the Institute and enjoy live performances, free food and a DJ while we remind the more than 1,800 16- and 17-year-olds who registered to vote that it’s nearly time to cast their ballots and be heard! https://mobilize.us/s/TRHvhp (fb)

Our very own Law & Policy Director Henal Patel was granted oral argument time before the NJ Supreme Court in the Paterson case. In January, we filed an amicus brief with the New Jersey Supreme Court regarding the Attorney General's takeover of the Paterson Police Department (Paterson PD). (fb)
