Healing Bridges
Healing Bridges exists to reverse the destruction of the Kofan indigenous people in the Colombian Amazon, by defending their rights, seeking the restoration of their territory and culture, and an economy based on their identity and a healthy environment. Healing Bridges works with the Kofan (A'i) people's Traditional Authority to restore their territory and cultural sovereignty, and on agricultural projects promoting food security in the Colombian Amazon. We gather with the Traditional Authorities (shamans) of five territories. Occasionally, we work with the Siona (Zio Bain) indigenous people - and other allies. Healing Bridges aims to strengthen traditional communities living in harmony with nature, and to bridge the gap with the modern world. We are guided by the principles of free, prior, and informed consent, as well as those of development with culture and identity. We will occasionally join in policy debates, especially as they relate to the green-washing of oil and gas and/or false solutions in the struggle to stop global warming.
