The Health Education and Promotion Council (HEAPC) is a state certified prevention program and a 501 (C) 3, not-for-profit organization that was founded in 2007. HEAPC is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of communities it serves. HEAPC’s mission is to synchronize culture, science, and education to improve health, economic, and social wellbeing. HEAPC achieves its mission by: 1. Implementing initiatives that synchronize science-based practices with a culturally competent approach; 2. Developing long-range strategic plans, which employ best and promising practices while engaging and mobilizing stakeholders; 3. Promoting public health and educational infrastructure within communities that have demonstrated disparities; 4. Developing of culturally relevant communication systems that educate both the public and the professionals that work with community; and 5. Advocacy of policies that increase the quality and access of professional health care services and quality education.
