The West Michigan Electrical Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee (WMEJATC) is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive electrical apprenticeship programs. Programs
The WMEJATC offers two registered programs with the United States Department of Labor:
- 4-Year Time-Based Program: This program leads to Journeyman Inside Wireman status upon completion. It focuses on classroom instruction and hands-on training to equip apprentices with the necessary skills for commercial and industrial electrical work.
- 4-Year Competency-Based Program: Designed for those seeking Journeyman Construction Electrician status, this program also combines classroom education with on-the-job training.
Training Curriculum

- Electrical Theory: Understanding principles of electricity, including voltage, current, resistance, and power.
- National Electrical Code (NEC): Learning standards and regulations for safe electrical installation and maintenance.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpreting electrical blueprints and schematics.

- Hands-On Training: Gaining practical experience through supervised on-the-job training.
