What a wonderful evening we had! It was filled with beautiful and inspiring moments - celebrating our history, shining a light on the amazing work we’re doing today, and cultivating our dreams for a big future for ARTS. 📣 We want to send a big shoutout to all of our Spring 2025 Spotlight Honorees, shining a spotlight on those who inspire meaningful change in our community. 🌸 This year, we honored: 🌸 Felicia Shaw, Executive Director, @sdartmatters 🌸 Amanda Castro (@amanndacalifornia), ARTS Master of Social Work Intern 🌸 Zaide Jurado (@zaidediaz13), Recreation Supervisor @cityofnationalcity 🌸 Steven Sanchez, Coordinator of Expanded Learning, National School District 🌸 Adriana Quezada, ARTS on Campus Teaching Artist & ARTS Creative Collaborator 🌸 Megan A., ARTS on Campus Youth Artist from National School District Some major highlights from our event include ✨ Unveiling of a beautifully reimagined portrait of Pat D’Arrigo, ARTS founder Matt D'Arrigo mother by Teaching Artists Rob Tobin and Kelsey Kenny,💡Spotlight keepsake lamps for our honorees, designed and fabricated by our Teaching Artist, Christopher Lloyd Tucker, 🎶 DJ fkaviktor with a vinyl set, 📜 Recital of poetry from San Diego Poet Laureate Paola Capó-García,🎨 Art activations and creative experience designed by our Community Collective led by our youth intern, Izabella and Teaching Artist Kelsey Kenny, 🖼️ A curated selection of art and silent auction items (@fcsandiego.sandiego.fc, @barrioglassworks, @prpwineinternational, @sewloka, @kendrascott, @child_of_wild), and 🍽️ Small bites and refreshments from our local (@konakairesortsd, @3punkales, @blankcanvaswine, @pattyslines, @athleticbrewing), 🖌️ Gallery showcases of art created by the youth in our programs providing a glimpse into all that happens here at the ARTS Center and across our programs in the South Bay! —————————————————————— Support ARTS ✨🎨 in creating impactful programming that fosters community through the transformative power of creativity — donate today or join us at our event! 🙌 www.areasontosurvive.org/bright-lights (link in bio) (fb)

Our Mission ARTS lifts young people in the South County region of San Diego to become confident compassionate and courageous community builders through the transformative power of creativity. ARTS Community Impact 2023 Spring 2024 Community ARTS Registration is now open. ARTS on Campus National School District We are providing afterschool programming at all 10 National School District Campuses. ARTS 4 Justice Integrated creative projects with a healingcentered engagement lens for justiceimpacted youth ages 1419 in partnership with the Juvenile Court and Community Schools district ARTS Work Learn more about our internship with Sweetwater High School Engineering and Welding Academy Providing arts education focused on design thinking cultural equity and healingcentered engagement to youth in South County San Diego.
