Prime Stage, located at The New Hazlett Theater in Pittsburgh PA, is the region’s nationally recognized theatre that “brings literature to life.” Prime Stage performances are at the New Hazlett Theater Center for Performing Arts Our Mission: Bring great literature and history to life through the transformative process of live theatre – to entertain, inform, enrich, and inspire audiences with engaging programs that deliver long-lasting benefits to theatregoers, families, students, and educators of our region and beyond. Vision: Employ the engaging immediacy of live theatre to enrich the lives of patrons, foster empathy and community connections, open the mind to new perspectives, and instill qualities of imagination, creativity, curiosity, and wonder. Education: With theatre-based educational programs, we foster literacy, critical thinking, interpersonal communication, and the love of reading. In the Community: We enrich the mission with community-wide programs presented with local partners.
