The Shingletown Volunteer Fire Department, in partnership with Cal Fire Station 22, provides coverage for a 125 square mile area. This region spans elevations from approximately 1,500 feet to nearly 6,000 feet, encompassing part of Battalion 3 of the Shasta County Fire Department. The department responds to a range of incidents, totaling between 300 to 600 annually, including vegetation fires, structure fires, medical emergencies, hazmat situations, and public assists.
Training and Community Engagement
Volunteers typically train on Tuesday evenings at the Alward Fire Station on Highway 44, unless they are called to respond to emergency situations. The department actively engages with the community, hosting events like bingo nights to foster support and fundraising efforts.
