We have one more opening this year for the Flag of Honor program on Sunday, April 20. If your family wants to honor a veteran who has passed and is available to attend the Brewers game April 20 please send us an email: assistant@warmemorialcenter.org (fb)

March 25 is Medal of Honor Day. The Medal of Honor is our nation’s highest and most prestigious military decoration that symbolizes the American ideals of courage, sacrifice, patriotism, citizenship, integrity, and commitment. Today would be a great day to stop by the War Memorial Center to see our free Medal of Honor exhibit with artifacts from Gary G. Wetzel and Lance P. Sijan, two Medal of Honor recipients from Milwaukee. Learn about the 64 Wisconsinites who have received this high honor since the Civil War: https://warmemorialcenter.org/medal-of-honor/ Download our free Medal of Honor lesson plan: https://warmemorialcenter.org/the-medal-of-honor/ Learn more about our Medal of Honor traveling exhibit: https://warmemorialcenter.sharepoint.com/:b:/g/EUauSXMZVEpNlKwos-ouIMoBtWSZQ1E--Oxs8-4IJCfFjQ (fb)

HONOR THE DEAD SERVE THE LIVING Experience the stories that built our nation. The War Memorial Center was never intended to be a static veterans memorial. Our foundersthe Milwaukee communityenvisioned something more. Rather than build another flagpole or bench the people of Milwaukee wanted a living memorial to Honor the Dead by Serving the Living.
