The Michigan Council for Exceptional Children works to strengthen the field of education to impact success for individuals with exceptionalities! The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving the success of children and youth with disabilities and/or gifts and talents. MICHIGAN FEDERATED CHAPTERS OF THE COUNCIL FOR EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN, DBA MICHIGAN COUNCIL FOR EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN "THE ORGANIZATION", IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION. THE PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO STRENGTHEN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION TO IMPACT SUCCESS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH EXCEPTIONALITIES (BY PROVIDING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH, FAMILIES, SPECIAL AND GENERAL EDUCATORS). THE ORGANIZATION IS THE MICHIGAN UNIT OF THE INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL FOR EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN, WHICH IS DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE EDUCATIONAL SUCCESS OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH WITH DISABILITIES AND/OR GIFTED AND TALENTED.
