Friends of the Hilton Head Library

The Friends of the Hilton Head Library was organized in 1971 as a non-profit organization to promote literacy and encourage the pursuit of life long learning through use of the library’s resources. We raise funds to help our library be the first-rate public service our community values expect. The Friends buy books, equipment, and supplies that are not covered by county and state funding; we sponsor events and speakers that are interesting to our community; and we sponsor children’s reading programs, as well as many other learning and growth opportunities for both kids and adults. The bulk of our funding comes from membership contributions and the proceeds from our Friends’ Bookshop located to the left as you enter the lobby of the library.

I work in a nonprofit and listing our organization on Eduo.org helped us reach new audiences and even new volunteers. It’s easy to use and feels built with love.
