In an effort to help you feel *refreshed* for the weekend, we thought we would share our recently renovated Grab-and-Go Station in the entryway to our dining room, Hilltop Harvest at Alderfer 😌 Our Culinary Team, Maintenance rockstars and trusted contractors worked hard to make this vision a reality in Q1 of this year! Now, residents, staff and guests are enjoying the delicious, ready-to-eat, house-made packaged meals they always have, along with a few new additions, like mini (4 oz.) Along with Grace Inspired Living, we are proud to announce and share the final result of a resident-led fundraising initiative that came to fruition on Friday after nearly a year in the making: a community flagpole. 🇺🇸 Around mid-2024, an impressive and determined group of Rockhill residents began leading the charge to independently cover the cost of establishing a permanent flagpole at the forefront of campus. Following its successful installation, they organized a Dedication & Inaugural Flag-Raising to close out the last full week of March. Resident Ruth Ann Christ welcomed the crowd (what a turnout!) and shared a few words, followed by resident Jack Howells leading everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance. Finally, the community's Executive Director, Ted Leister, had the honor of raising Rockhill's first official (outdoor) flag while the supporters applauded, and he was assisted by Larry Hosler, our Director of Maintenance, including grounds. The brand new flagpole crowns an established concrete & cobblestone semi-circle landing near our Main Entrance off State Road and stands at 30' tall, with a 5x8' American flag. (fb)
