🕊️🪖This Memorial Day, we salute the brave men and women who gave everything for our freedom—and we’d be remiss not to tip our wings to a lesser-known regiment of war heroes: the pigeons. Yes, pigeons. Fluffier than your average soldier, but no less fierce. These winged warriors flew through bullets and bombs with messages that saved thousands of lives. No GPS, no backup—just feathers, grit, and impeccable homing instincts. Like Cher Ami, who delivered her message despite being struck through the breast and arriving on one leg. Or G.I. Joe, who saved an entire village by beating the bombing planes by mere minutes. Faster than a speeding bullet? Maybe not. Braver than most? Absolutely. So this holiday, we remember the two-legged and the two-winged. The ones who ran toward danger—whether on foot, in boots, or by sky, in feathers.
