We're chatting with Mel Reece, general manager of Wild Bill's in this Member Spotlight! Q: What inspired us to purchase Wild Bill’s? A: Our journey began with the purchase of our lodge in 2017, which truly made us fall in love with southeast Nebraska and the incredible community here. From the very beginning, we had a vision to grow and find meaningful ways to give back to the place that welcomed us so warmly. Purchasing Wild Bill’s was a natural next step—it allowed us to expand our roots and invest even deeper into the local area we’ve come to care so much about. It’s more than just a business decision; it’s a way for us to support and celebrate the community that inspired us from the start. Q: What are some of your most popular food offerings? A: We offer a wide variety of amazing menu items. But our fried chicken buffet on Monday's & Friday nights, prime rib on Saturday night and specialty sandwiches and burgers are what keep people coming back. Q: Any new events happening this summer? A: Our 3rd Thursday events all summer long. A great night filled with vendors, live music, special drinks and food. Q: How does Wild Bills support the local community? A: We donate to a lot of local fundraisers and I work closely with the Village of Rulo for any needs for upcoming events. Our biggest support comes from our Chasing Dreams Fundraiser. This is much more than a poker run. We also include a donation meal, live auction and live music. It’s truly a day dedicated to giving back to families in need. These families are facing the unimaginable as their children battle serious medical challenges. Our goal is to help ease some of their financial burden while showing them that they’re surrounded by a community that cares. Join us on June 7th for this year's benefit for Isla Kirkendall!
