When school ends for summer break, so do free meal programs for children who rely on them. The latest Map the Meal Gap data shows that 1 in 5 children in Food Finders' 16-county service area are experiencing food insecurity. Families need strong federal programs to help them stay afloat. As we face the highest level of food insecurity in over a decade, we are also facing the largest cuts to the Supplemental Food Assistance Program (SNAP) in the program’s history.
