Looking to adopt a kitty? You need to meet Loonie! Loonie came to us over a year ago. She was terribly stressed and not showing her best self. The hub bub in the adult cat room with visitors and other cats didn’t help. She waited and waited…and she seemed invisible 💔 When long time shelter kitty Whiskey was finally adopted 🙌 , Loonie was moved to the break room. Here she could roam about freely in a quieter space of her own, with a cat tree and a window with a view of the birdfeeders. We’re pleased to report that Loonie has absolutely blossomed in this quieter space, showing us all that she is a social and incredibly sweet girl. Yesterday, I ran into the break room with some supplies, with the intent to stack them on the shelves and go back to doing tasks in the shelter. Loonie had other plans for me. Being partial to black cats, I couldn’t resist her hopeful face and little meow that asked me to stop and say hello. After a few sniffs and some rubs on my hand, Loonie decided I needed a hug. Yes, a hug. Looney wrapped one paw around my neck and the other around my shoulder and held me tight as she stuck her head under my chin and purred and purred and purred. Loonie rubbed her purring face all over me and when I thought she was done, I tried putting her down. She made it clear she wasn’t done so I held her a while longer. When she finally let me leave, my head was in the clouds! ☺️ Loonie clearly has a lot of love to share - she just needs someone to give her a chance! Loonie is 4 years old, healthy, and ready to go home where she can be your devoted one and only cat.
