Old Savannah City Mission, Inc. Emergency services (meals, showers, beds, clothing), Urban Training Institute (UTI) is a recovery/transitional program based on an Adult Education paradigm.  It affords opportunity for change of character/identity and a strong Christian support community.   Divisions of Urban Training Institute: 1. Clean Start, 12 month residental recovery.  Candidates for Clean Start must be "mature in their misery."  Individuals must "own" their problem as the first step in recovery.  2. Fresh Start, 12 month transitional program for male & female ex-offenders; Ideally, candidates for Fresh Start are selected prior to their release from incarceration.  3. All programs have zero tolerance for drugs, alcohol, tobacco, violence or threat of violence. The Mission has high standards, strong boundaries and clear direction and aspires to be and to operate as Savannah's 5 star Gospel Rescue Mission.  The Mission receives no tax payer or United Way.  Gifts may be made via United Way if designated for OSCM.  The Mission is regional in service to those in need and receives regional support.
