Founded in 2003 by Mary Beth and Steven Curtis Chapman, the organization aims to restore hope for orphans worldwide by facilitating adoptions and supporting those with special needs.

The inspiration for Show Hope came after the Chapmans adopted their daughter Shaohannah Hope from China in 2000. This experience moved them to address the millions of children awaiting adoption. Initially named Shaohannah's Hope, the organization was officially established as a nonprofit entity in February 2003.

Show Hope offers various programs focused on adoption and orphan care:

• Adoption Aid Grants: These financial grants assist families in covering some of the costs associated with adoption. Over the years, these grants have helped more than 4,000 children from over 50 countries, including the U.S., find forever homes.

• Advocacy and Community Engagement: Show Hope engages the church and broader community in advocating for orphan care. They also mobilize students and families to support comprehensive care for children.
