Healthy Native Communities Partnership
Today, the more than 4.1 million American Indians and Alaska Natives, representing over 566 Tribes, are suffering the worst health status of any group in America. Native populations are impacted largely from preventable illnesses, at much higher rates and at much younger ages than the rest of the U.S. population. When it comes to fighting a staggering health crisis, investing in communities to generate change works. HNCP knows that people in local communities have the passion, tradition and commitment needed to take the first and most powerful steps toward wellness. Our role is to connect groups to tools, and with each other, so they can mobilize innovative strategies that are right for their communities
